TREE KEEPER - CAST

James Browne - Doire

James Browne has taken the Irish theatre and film scenes by storm over the past few years. His film and tv credits include 'Tunnel', 'Éalú', 'Searching for Ten', 'Rest My Bones' and he also appeared alongside Michael Madson in 'Strength and Honor'.

On stage he has received critical acclaim for his many varied performances. Most notably for Tim, a likeable painter and decorator from Finglas in Christian O’Rielly’s 'The Good Father', which embarked on a sell out national tour.

Most recently he was seen on stage in the Granary's critically acclaimed staging of Sarah Kane's 'Cleansed' and Ouroboros Theatre Company, Everyman Palace Theatre's production of Shakespeare's 'Richard II'.

Pascal Scott - Jim Doyle

Pascal Scott has been a highly regarded actor on both the Irish and International film and theatre scenes for many years.

He recently featured in the smash-hit monster comedy 'Grabbers'. Other feature credits include 'Last Chance Harvey', 'Intermission', 'Omagh', 'Snap', 'Mickeybo & Me' and 'The Boys from County Clare'.

Pascal's television credits include 'Bachelor's Walk', 'Fair City', 'The Running Mate' and he is best known for his role as Sergeant Dick O'Toole in all five series of 'Killinaskully'.

Róisín O'Donovan - Anna

Róisín O'Donovan studied drama in University College Cork and in 2009 she studied advanced acting for TV and film in Pace University in New York, USA. She has appeared in numerous short films including the lead role in ‘The Sign’, which screened in competition at the 2008 Cork International Film Festival and The 2009 Babelgum Online International Film Festival.

Her recent theatre credits include, Bernard Shaw's 'Heartbreak House' and she starred as Miranda in Shakespeare's 'Tempest', performed onsite and outside in Dublin's Iveagh Gardens. She is currently a member of 'The Factory' programme of screen acting.

Charlie Ruxton - Barry

Charlie Ruxton has featured in such award winning feature films as 'Clash of the Ash', 'Into the West', 'Angela's Ashes', 'The Eclipse' and the recent Television series 'Titanic: Blood and Steel'.

Charlie is a founding member of Graffiti Theatre Company where he played Cassio in 'Othello' and Shylock in 'The Merchant of Venice' as well as numerous Theatre in Education productions.

He also joined Crazy Dog Audio Theatre for their performance of ‘The Poet Laureate’, which was a celebration of the poetry of Cork poet Gerry Murphy. This show was described as the cultural event of the year by the Irish Times.

Ciarán Ruby - Tom Doyle

Ciarán Ruby is known in Irish film and theatre as both an actor and a writer.

Ciarán's theatre credits include ‘The White Lady’ (Meridian), ‘Red Patriot’ (Brown Penny), ‘Man of La Mancha’, ‘The Ha'Penny Bridge’ (Cork Opera House) and ‘Sophocles' Antigone’ (DonAd) which played at The International Symposium on Ancient Greek Drama (Ancient Stadium of Delphi, Greece) and at the Roman Amphitheatre, Carnuntum, Austria.

Ciarán is also a musician, playing whistles, harmonica, guitar and bodhrán.
He has composed music for theatre, most notably ‘The Lament for Arthur
Cleary’ and ‘Sive’, both for Brown Penny. He holds a Masters Degree in
Drama and Theatre Studies from University College Cork.

Martina Carroll - Nóirín

Martina Carroll has had a long and varied career in film, theatre and radio.

She has played many leading roles over the last thirty years and has worked with RTÉ, the BBC, and Channel 4. Her recent film and tv credits include 'Handy Sandie', 'The Republic of Telly' and 'Partly Cloudy'.

She was a member of the long playing RTÉ Radio Soap, ‘Under the Goldie
Fish’, and the voice behind the Radio Series, ‘The Downtown Dirty Faces’,
both penned by Conal Creedon. Currently, Martina is a regular contributor
to the RTÉ Radio 1 Programme, ‘Book on One’.
